WWE Superstar Shake-Up REcreative: A Successful APOLLO Mission

So we are less than 24 hours from Night 1 of the Superstar Shake-up. The “red brand” made out very well on this deal receiving a cornucopia of talent ranging from pre-show darlings, women on a path to success, some established heels and a midcard champion. I wanted to take this time to focus on one acquisition in particular.

The first “shake-up” of the night came before RAW even started. It was announced on WWE.com that RAW had acquired Apollo Crews from Smackdown. This trade surprised me because up to this point WWE hasn’t known what to do with Mr. Crews. So this move can mean 1 of 2 things; either they will be shuffling this gentleman back and fourth without purpose until his contract runs out or he will actually be given a spot on the flagship show. I am honestly hoping for the latter. Apollo Crews is a very talented wrestler with amazing skills in the ring but he doesn’t possess the skills to get the casual fans to follow and invest in him.

So some people would suggest he needs a manager but in this current climate of WWE good ones are hard to find. I have seen the suggestion around the web that Paul Heyman would work. This is the thing wtih Heyman. He IS WITHOUT A DOUBT one of the best managers in the business but he does have a rocky track record when you look at his recent clients. Heyman has had five clients in the last several years (Brock Lesner, CM Punk, Cesaro, Ryback and Curtis Axel). 2 out of those 5 would be deem a success, those would be Lesner and Punk. What they have in common is a history with Heyman behind the curtain as much as they did in the ring. Heyman was the one that believed in these men and the stars they could be and eventually developed into. He had a vested interest in their success. Axel and Ryback were merely stepping stones in the eventual Brock Lesner vs CM Punk marquee match-up at Summerslam 2013. And when you look at Cesaro he was in a very similar spot that Apollo Crews sits now; a physical dynamo that could not get the crowd to pop if he set their seats on fire. So Heyman is not going to solve this problem unless he is the one with the matches.

This is where my creative plans comes in. On the April 3rd, 2017 we saw the debut of The Revival when they came in and decimated The New Day. They made a statement by “injuring” Kofi Kingston and putting him on the shelf. The next week they took on Big E and Xavier Woods. Again they made a statement. So what I purpose is Dash& Dawson come out next week on RAW saying they are not done with the NEW DAY. They go on to say that they are not looking for pin falls they are here to put people on the shelf. Xavier and Big E come out and tell Dash & Dawson they aren’t hard to find. We get a heated match. In the middle of the match they have Big E down and handcuff him to the ropes. They knock Xavier Woods out and lock his legs up to deliver the stomp from the top rope, exactly how they took Kofi Kingston out. The refs come out they get Xavier Woods and Big E to the back. Woods is screaming in pain getting wheeled into an ambulance and as Big E is climbing in with him Apollo Crews is scene looking on in concern.

The next week Big E comes out he says he is fine representing the POWER OF POSITIVITY alone and there is nothing The Revival can do. He continues by saying at  Payback they are going to see that. He says that he already talked to our New GM and got his match, a 2-on-1 handicap match. Out comes Dash with Dawson and we have a singles match. Big E would control the match forcing Dash outside of the ring multiple times to regroup. Finally through frustration Dash & Dawson jump Big E causing a disqualification. Big E would rally back forcing the Revival to flee leading us into Payback with Big E looking strong.

Payback arrives and we have Big E vs The Revival in a 2-on-1 Tag Handicap match. This one goes exactly how one would imagine with Big E holding his own at the beginning but due to underhanded tactics The Revival would take the upper hand. After finishing Big E with the Shatter Machine for the 1-2-3. The attack doesn’t end there. As Dawson locks the legs up and Dash goes to climb to the top to take out the last member of the New Day Apollo Crews comes out and clears the ring. As Dash & Dawson stand outside the ring yelling back Apollo would then drop them with a diving attack to the outside taking them both out causing a retreat by The Revival as he [Apollo Crews] helps Big E to his feet.

This would lead to the teaming of Big E and Apollo Crews. With Big E’s charisma the WWE Universe would slowly see a charisma rub on Crews’ character. This is exactly what Apollo needs. Big E is more than a manager Big E is a crowd favourite. By having Apollo save and befriend Big E he absorbs the popularity of the New Day that was seen to be lost when Kingston and Woods were hurt. Now the best thing at this point is to have The Revival continue the feud with Big E & Crews. They could run in on their matches against other teams or even address each other through promos. Eventually when they do face-off I would have Woods outside the ring with crutches. Somehow have him assist with a win over The Revival. This causes a rift. Apollo doesn’t want to win in this way and you see a divide starting.

Eventually Woods returns first from his injury. He is visably bothered by Apollo Crews but Big E is doing a good job patching all visable problems. This would move into Apollo & Big E building a winning streak (sometimes with the unknown help of Xavier on the outside) and lead them to a Tag Team Title program. They ultimatley win the titles and during a celebration we see the return of Kofi Kingston.

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods are on the mics. They congratualte Big E for holding it down while they were gone. Totally ignoring Apollo Crews you can see Big E getting awkward. He jumps on the mic and says its good to have his borthers back in the ring but he couldnt have down this without Apollo. Woods starts laughing. He makes the claim that they wouldn’t be holding the titles with out his help. Apollo gets rattled and gets in Woods’ face. As Big E pulls him back Kofi and Xavier land a double kick over Big E’s shoulder taking Apollo out. As Big E begs and plees with them they turn shrug at each other like “why not” and take out Big E. We witness the END OF THE NEW DAY as a trio.

“The Aftermatch”

This can lead in to multiple stories; the obvious Tag Team Title feud of The “New” New Day vs Big Apollo. This could go for at least 2 pay-per-views. And then when it is played out you have the eventual heel turn of Apollo Crews on Big E. Big E has the potential for a great singles run but first will need to shed his associates. Through this Apollo gets a new look with a heel New Day or goes off on his own as the man who is sick of helping people and getting no further for it.

All in all this makes sense. The New Day is becoming stale but still has enough crowd power that they can help a star that needs it. You create branches of the storyline that can build within each other which WWE wouldn’t accomplish by just adding a fourth member. Big E and Apollo have enough of a similarity in style that they compliment each as a Tag Team and because Xavier and Kofi act as the current mouthpieces they are already making Big E look like the odd man out.

With one storyline you can easily turn this into multiple organic stories giving the superstars so many creative ways to take it.

WWE REcreated: Superstar Shake-Up

Well we are officially on the other side of Wrestlemania. As a fan I was pleased with the show. Of course I was bias of a few storylines and finishes feeling I could have booked them better. That is just the type of fan I am and will always be. If I wasn’t this blog wouldn’t make little to no sense.

As always the #RAWaftermania was a fresh start where we see new stars coming in, some stars taking breaks or in this year’s case a Phenom retiring. But all in all it gave an opening for CHANGE.

I was very happy to see Vincent K. McMahon make his way on to the screen This man, like it or lump it, is a one of a kind business man. Watching him play the crowd as he did was, as always, a thing of beauty. He also gave us a well needed announcement of a “Superstar Shake-Up” to change things up. I was not expecting this till closer to June but an very happy it is sooner than later. So thanks to this announcement I will focusing on the Shake-Up in this week’s blog.

Now there was an article on McMahon’s Announcement on WWE.com where they give vague details on how this will work. They make mention to the possible “trades, deals and other moves” but for the sake of this post I will be focusing on;  multiple acquisitions that would benefit each show, as well as those trades I will be making a recommendation for a NXT call up for each show.

RAW Acquisition #1: Mojo Rawley

This just makes sense when you consider the ending of The Andre the Giant Battle Royal. As I stated in Wrestlemania 33 REcreated: Runners-Up & the Honourable Mentions this match needs to start meaning something. It needs to be a leap off point for a superstar. Not meaning a future main event spot or world championship status but at least a purpose. At Wrestlemania Jinder Mahal and Mojo Rawley shared the beginnings of a possible feud. Although I have no doubt that the best we can get from this conclusion is a pre-show match nonetheless it is still giving these two superstars something. Now at the conclusion of this obviously its best to have Mojo Rawley go over and lead to another mid-card feud that at least has my attention between major segments on RAW. I would watch Mojo vs. Rusev, or even Mojo vs Titus O’Neil. Again this won’t be for a title but still has a slight amount of storyline to a stale midcard. In fact I would even tie this to the future signing of Zak Ryder and the possibility of a Hype Bros midcard run in the Tag Team Division of RAW.

Smackdown Acquisition #1; Sheamus

Yes I know that he is slated for a Tag Team Title match with Cesaro against current champions The Hardy Boyz. Leading into this match have Cesaro receive an open contract from Daniel Bryan where Bryan tells Cesaro that if he ever wants more opportunity there is a spot on Smackdown. Cesaro and Sheamus lose their match resulting Sheamus attacking Cesaro, signing his name to the open contract and laying it on top of his former partner. At this point in his career Sheamus can hold a standard feud against talents such as Tye Dillinger, Luke Harper or even a returning Shelton Benjamin. I think Sheamus has hit a point where we won’t see a major title reign but he does have enough appeal and at times natural heat to work a midcard match on a secondary Pay-Per-View. He could even take something stale like The Ascension and either join forces or infiltrate this team breathing fresh life into it. Even if they swap out the leather battle gear and wore kilts and acted as Sheamus’ muscle it would be an improvement to their current slip into tag team obliviousness.

Raw Acquisition #2; Breezango a.k.a The Fashion Police

Ok please don’t stop reading this. There is a point to this trade. This is not for the team itself but more for the parts. I would actually do this and do some sort of comedy storyline where Fandango actually turns on Tyler Breeze for the rights of a time share from the Shining Stars. Yes this is cheesy but it appeals to the PG audience and it writes Fandango off TV until they can repackage Johnny Curtis. That guy was able to hold a decent program in NXT but has been dropped down to a filler on the main roster. As far as Tyler Breeze goes he is a similar story. He once was the NXT Champion, a main player and is now just another name in a team. Picture an embarrassed partner-less Breeze walking backstage after Fandango leaves him in the ring. Approached by Cedric Alexander who offers his hand in friendship. Breeze attacks Alexander for his “offer of pity to the Prince of Pretty”. Boom Breeze is 205 and given new life. We would automatically get matches that would have the internet buzzing every Wednesday after 205 Live. Think about it Breeze vs Alexander,Breeze vs TJ Perkins and piece du resistance Neville vs Breeze vs Austin Aries in a Triple Threat Match.

Smackdown Acquisition #2: Enzo Amore & Big Cass

So we all saw last week as Enzo & Big Cass quickly lost their chance at their first Tag Team championship within the WWE. They followed that up with a loss to Sheamus and Cesaro the next night. This team needs a new home. They still have the audience’s attention and the crowd appeal that is needed on Smackdown. They also the appeal of a top contending team to quickly top the Tag Team Division  on Smackdown. This would set up  a feud with The Usos. This also effects not only the Tag Division as it would the Women’s Division with a Naomi heel turn protecting the title reign of her husband and his brother painting the picture for Carmella dropping the horrible storyline with Ellsworth and evening the odds against Naomi and The Usos when she joins forces with Enzo and her real life boyfriend Big Cass.

RAW Acquisition #3: Dean Ambrose

So Ambrose has been a slight creative slunk since losing the WWE World Title to AJ Styles. Now obviously he wouldn’t bring the Intercontinental Title over with him. This would set up a situation where it would be Title vs Contract against Baron Corbin this week on Smackdown. Ambrose losing does two things; first it gives Baron Corbin a title win and a spotlight. And secondly it gives Ambrose a chip on his shoulder. He is now the unappreciated employee who saw all of his efforts go towards nothing. He sees himself as a whipping boy. He is shown blowing off shows and not doing what is asked of him. He can even do an angle where he goes on strike and pickets his own matches. Stephanie would take this personally a constantly make an example of him. This forces him to gravel for his job but is still “fired” for his efforts. He then goes into a fit of rage leading to the point where he “snaps” and truly becomes a lunatic. And just like that Ambrose becomes the modern day hero to the menials and their sense of entitlement.

Smackdown Acquisition #3: Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn needs a push and with the amount of talent that is being pushed on RAW right now Zayn has been reduced to a stepping stone for guys like Owens, Strowman and Samoa Joe. On Smackdown Zayn is the midcard hero with main event potential. Off the top of my head I see three feuds with 5-Star Match possibility; Dolph Ziggler, Baron Corbin and The Miz. Even title feuds with fellow baby-face Shinsuke Nakamura  would produce memorable matches suitable for one of the Big 4 Pay-Per-Veiws.

RAW Acquisition #4: AJ Styles

In one year he rose to the top of the card for Smackdown and gave them the push they needed. Now is his chance to run the flagship show. Right off the bat you get a feud with Samoa Joe. This feud is something we have seen many times before but no doubt these two superstars would up their game when it comes to doing it in a WWE ring. We also have the potential in a feud with Kevin Owens for the United States title. And the cherry on the ice cream sundae would be having ALL Club members (Styles, Balor, Anderson and Gallows) on one show. This could lead to joining forces, or even a power struggle leading to a Balor vs Styles program that would be so good for both superstars. This is a move that brings attention to RAW in the best way.

Smackdown Acquisition #4: Seth “Freakin” Rollins

Seth is someone who can lead a brand but on RAW he loses the opportunity with so many leading stars. Seth has established himself as a worker in the eyes of the “bosses” but still needs a chance to appeal to the fans. Smackdown gives him that chance. Against stars in Smackdown has can build a fan following and find his way back to the top holding another WWE World Title. He also has the ability to switch down the road and have an amazing heel run versus Nakamura, Zayn or even Dillinger.

RAW  New Superstar Acquisition

Cesaro stands in the ring. He has just been betrayed by Sheamus. He talks about how he knew better but still trusted Sheamus. Anderson & Gallows come out. They say you need to have a brother in arms. You need a soldier as well as a friend. But as they can see Cesaro doesn’t have that which is bad news for him but good news for them. Just as they climb in the ring we see the run out by Kassius Ohno A.K.A. Chris Hero. Cesaro and Ohno clear the ring and casual fans get to witness reincarnation of the KINGS OF WRESTLING (but of course under a new name).

Smackdown  New Superstar Acquisition
This one is very simple. I would bring up Andrade “Cien” Almas. He is currently coming into his own as a heel on NXT. He can start out with an attack on Tye Dillinger another NXT call up. It can be built as him feeling disgruntled against former NXT superstars that got called up before him. Leading to Apollo Crews and Kalisto. And if that takes off his path would lead to a showdown with Nakamura or even Seth Rollins.

“The Aftermatch”

Now I understand allot of these trades are no mind altering blockbusters but there is one thing they all do. They all add substance. They add options for the parts of each show that lack something. Vince Russo often refers to a time during the Attitude Area where every superstar was given something. And that gave each segment of WWE TV something. We need that back. Fans need options. Not everybody needs to cheer for the main event as long as they are given something else to cheer for along the way.

Wrestlemania 33 REcreated: Runners-Up & the Honourable Mentions

So we are days away from the “Showcase of the Immortals”. This is something that as wrestling fans we wait for yearly. It not only concludes our year (or “season” if you will) but within 24 hours it sets the tone and direction of storylines for the next year. Over the past few posts I have chosen a handful of matches that I tweaked in order to properly conclude open stories but also give us a new direction for the participants. I know there are some matches I have missed. Those matches will be addressed with this post and hopefully I will show you the reader a direction for each wrestler involved. As well as making mention to a few matches I believe we’re missed opportunities.
1. Andre the Giant Battle Royal

This match has now become a staple on the card. As of yet we have not seen this match or its winners getting the hype they deserve. So for this year I believe we should have seen a series of stories intertwined within the match. Examples of this would be the current battles between Sami Zayn vs Samoa Joe or even Dolph Ziggler vs Apollo Crews. That way we become invested in this match. As for a winner I would like to see one of the following 3 men win it; Sami Zayn, Braun Stroman or Samoa Joe. Instantly the winner whomever that will be should become a major player on his brand. If they are going to continue this match yearly WWE should invest in it more. We are entering its fourth instalment and it’s already a pre-show match no one is excited for.
2. Smackdown Tag Team Championship Match

As I spoke of in my article Wrestlemania 33 Recreated: RAW Tag Title Match the current Tag Team scene of both brands is lacklustre. I would say this is more the case with Smackdown over RAW. American Alpha is a team that has promise and booked right could be a marquee team caring the future of Tag Team Wrestling. So at Elimination Chamber they [American Alpha] defeated every team in a Tag Team Turmoil Match. This solidified them as the top team and clearing the road for a new challenger. That’s where the call up of The Revival from NXT comes in. These are two teams that not only have history but within that history they stole the show (in my opinion) at last years NXT Takeover: Dallas during Wrestlemania Weekend. The booking for this could last months or even be repeated throughout the year. You may even see a triple feud with these teams and The Usos that could be compared to the feud featuring The Hardys, Edge & Christian and The Dudleys during the Attitude Era. Obviously this feud would be more on the technical side.
3. The Intercontinental Championship Match

This match needs very little tweaking as I believe they did an amazing job at the beginning. Once we were past that I felt they dropped the ball. After Baron Corbin made the case of Dean Ambrose taking away every chance of success he had there should have been more substance. I want to see it get really personal. This would also be a perfect chance for Ambrose to reinvent himself as a true lunatic. The more Corbin pushes Ambrose the closer he gets to snapping and then finally have him get very intense during their match. It just seems since loosing the WWE Title Ambrose has resorted to being more of a comedy act than a lunatic. Corbin is the perfect opponent to push Ambrose. Have Ambrose go over at Wrestlemania but Corbin finish the feud on top with the belt at the next PPV.
4. United States Championship Match

Now for any readers out there that have read my post Wrestlemania 33 REcreated: Championships & Legacies you know that I had Sami Zayn win the United States Title at Fastlane with an assist by Kevin Owens in away that had Zayn completely unaware of the assist. The following night on RAW Zayn would come out and call out Mick Foley. He would give a speech about earning his spot in the WWE and wanting to earn his first title win and in conclusion relinquishing the title. Foley would say he understands and would give Sami a chance to win that title fair and square. Stephanie comes out and says Foley doesn’t make this decision because she has already made the decision that there will be an 8-Man tournament culminating at Wrestlemania. This would lead into Sami Zayn facing competition like Mark Henry as well as The Big Show and finding a way to win. On the other side of the bracket Samoa Joe would be demolishing Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel. This would lead to Samoa Joe vs Sami Zayn for the United States Title. As for the finish it should be booked to have Sami Zayn fighting with everything he has but at the end Stephanie finds a way to screw him over having Samoa Joe still winning in a big way. This gives Samoa Joe his first belt and at the next PPV Rollins can cost Joe the title giving Zayn the title and setting up a program with Rollins and Samoa Joe.

5. Smackdown Women’s Championship Match

This is the perfect opportunity to push the envelope with the Women’s Revolution. Every year Wrestlemania features a multi-person ladder match and I think this would be a perfect year to leave this one to the women. With RAW’s Women Division slightly overshadowing the Smackdown women this would give them their own spotlight on the grandest stage. This also is such a healthy mix of styles that it gives the opportunity for some amazing spots and a very memorable Wrestlemania moment. With six superstars announced already it wouldn’t be difficult to round up to 8 with the edition of Tamina Snuka and Emma. I would have Alexa Bliss retain with some sort of double cross over Mickie James. I think a program with a veteran like James would truly elevate Bliss further.
6. HHH vs Seth Rollins

I have nothing bad to say about this match or the booking. Reason for this was the unforeseen injury to Rollins. Hypothetically Rollins vs Samoa Joe would have been at Fastlane. If this was the case I would have had a DQ finish with Samoa Joe and HHH brutalizing Rollins. HHH could then make the case on RAW that he has officially ridded the WWE of their “Rollins problem”. Rollins would then come out with a Sledge Hammer taking out Samoa Joe and HHH. He would make a comment how HHH would have to put him on a stretcher permanently to get rid of him setting up for their match at Wrestlemania as a Stretcher Match. Just like their match at Wrestlemania now there would be plenty of violent spots with Rollins ultimately going over strong but finishing with Samoa Joe getting involved.
7. The Undertaker vs Roman Reigns

This is a match that I honestly think has the most possibility. I just feel that it had the possibility of appearing more organic but was rushed. At Fastlane WWE threw away allot of the “monster” build of Stroman with no benefit. The ending could have came with Stroman being dropped by multiple Superman Punches and Spears and right before the pin a gong sounds Reigns is distracted and leads to Stroman taking advantage and finishing Reigns. The next night have Reigns call out the Undertaker and then build it from their. Show The Undertaker clearing getting to Roman Reigns and continue having Hall of Famers warning Reigns. At Wrestlemania have Stroman come out after both men have thrown everything at each other and decimate both men. Because it ends in this way it would lead to Reigns taking the WWE Universal Title and have his rematch with Undertaker at Wrestlemania 34 Title vs Career. It would be “Best For Business” if the WWE Universe was made aware of the chance of The Undertaker ending his career at next year’s Wrestlemania. Think about it; James Ellsworth vs Bo Dallas in an Iron Man Match could be your co-main event and you would still sell out if there was a possibility of The Undertaker wrestling his last match on that card.
I want to end this post by wishing all of you a Merry Wrestlemania and a Happy RAW the night after!

Wrestlemania 33 Recreated: RAW Tag Title Match

So I think we can all agree that the current climate of Tag Team Wrestling in the WWE has hit a cloudy period. And this isn’t something that has recently happened but has been on a slow decline for many many years. The toughest part with the current scene is there is actually quite a lot of talent but most slip through the cracks unless they are in a title feud.
For this post I will be focussing on the RAW title match. As many of you know at Roadblock: End of the Line The New Day lost their Tag Team Titles to Sheamus and Cesaro this ending their record setting reign. In my booking this will not take place. In fact The New Day will be the champions going in to Wrestlemania. So let’s start this out.
Act One: Hit a Roadblock

So going into Roadblock: End of the Line New Day was becoming very desperate to keep their reign going. There was some shady finishes in their matches with Sheamus and Cesaro. So this will lead to the match at Roadblock. Before the match we discover that Sheamus and Cesaro have been attacked backstage making them unable to compete. On the floor we see 2 ski masks with skull designs on them. Cesaro is out and Sheamus is screaming in pain. Mick Foley doesn’t want to loose a Tag Title Match so he makes the match vs Anderson and Gallows.

Match starts with a very physical New Day. Anderson and Gallows manage a comeback. During the match Michael Cole gives us an update that Cesaro was un esponsive and sent to the hospital while Sheamus is currently being monitored in the back. This match would end when Gallows is on the outside and Sheamus comes down using a crutch and hits Gallows in the back screaming accusations regarding the assault. Match is stopped. Anderson and Gallows win by DQ and New Day is still the champs. After the match Anderson attacks Sheamus followed by a Magic Killer as New Day make their way to the back.
Act 2: Ready to Rumble

Anderson and Gallows meet with Mick Foley. Foley says he has a strong suspicion that it was them that attacked Sheamus and Cesaro butadiene of now he can’t prove it. He says they do have back stage tape they are looking into but nothing concrete yet. Anderson and Gallows remain aloof during this and firm on the fact they didn’t do anything. They continue saying they got screwed by Sheamus and want a rematch for the titles. Mick Foley says ok at the Royal Rumble they will face the New Day, but if the evidence comes back saying they had something to do with the attack they loose their shot.

From that point you book it like you normally would. Involve the 2 teams in singles matches. Tie them into a match with Roman and KO. The week before the Rumble have Cesaro and Sheamus come out. They say they know it was Anderson and Gallows that attacked them and think that them loosing out on their shots is BULL!

This brings us to Royal Rumble. During the pre-show Mick Foley is doing an interview in the back. He is being questioned about any evidence in the attack at Roadblock. Mick says nothing was shown and all we have is the ski masks. Just then you have a producer whisper something in Micks ear (his good one). Mick looks pissed says this interview is over and starts darting off. Cameraman follows Mick leading them to the scene of Anderson and Gallows laying on the ground next to the same ski masks found with Sheamus and Cesaro. Mick leaves them with medics saying he is getting to the bottom this. We cut to the pre-show match. Afterward we see Sheamus and Cesaro walking backstage Mick comes into the room. He flat out accuses them of attacking Gallows and Anderson. Mick goes on saying that there is no proof linking Gallows and Anderson to their [Sheamus/Cesaro] attack. Cesaro is quick to say bring up how Anderson and Gallows got the title shot at Roadblock so they want the shot tonight. Mick is reluctant but wants to do the fair thing so he makes New Day vs Sheamus/Cesaro. During the entrance of Sheamus/Cesaro they are jumped by Anderson and Gallows. While the four brawl New Day is seen just watching and laughing from the ring.
Act 3: Turning on to the Fastlane

Mick Foley comes out saying that he has had enough of Cesaro, Sheamus, Anderson and Gallows. All four men come out and instantly start arguing. He puts the teams in a match for the next RAW. The next week the match starts and quickly spills out on the floor. Referee counts 10 and calls it a draw. Even after the bell the brawling doesn’t stop. So Mick Foley comes out and says he is done with this and they can settle this at Fastlane in a Falls Count Anywhere Tornado Tag Match. Both teams agreed.

Later on that night New Day comes out. They commend Mick Foley for his decision. And since that takes care of the competition they assume they get the next few weeks off. Then Enzo and Cass’ music hits. The crowd pops. Enzo comes out does a promo regarding all the great things to do on time off from work. Enzo then apologizes cause they are going to spoil their [The New Day] day off because they were just talking to Foley and New Day has a match with the badaboom realist guys in the room. Back from a break and they are in midst of the match. New Day is doing everything they can to keep Enzo in the ring. Their tactics are on the shady side but nothing drawing too much attention.

Some how Enzo gets the hot tag leading to Big Cass running through everyone. There is some sort of confusion with Nee Day leading to Enzo/Big Cass getting the win. After the match New Day is seen complaining to Mick Foley about loosing their time off they earned by being the “longest reigning W-W-E Tag Team Champions” (said in the New Day Way). Mick Foley says that he is sorry but Champions should be fighting champions so at Fastlane it will be New Day vs Enzo/Big Cass. New Day seems kind of out of sort. Xavier is about to go off but Kofi/Big E wrangle him in.

This brings us to Fastlane. We start out with the Falls Anywhere match. This would lead to the back. Eventually they get to the locker rooms. Have Anderson/Gallows beating up on Sheamus in the hall Cesaro running splash at everyone. They go slamming into a locker room and there are The New Day in all black holding the ski masks over an knocked out Enzo and Big Cass. There is a staredown that breaks into a huge brawl. Mick Foley and security get involved. Order is restored by taking some superstars out of the building. Foley is frustrated clearly and when approached by an interviewer he says he will address the issue on RAW.
Act 4: Next Stop Wrestlemania

On RAW Foley calls out The New Day to explain themselves. New Day says they don’t need to. They have established themselves as the greatest Tag Team by beating all competitors on their way to DEMOLISHING the record. Foley says that’s right but now your legacy doesn’t reflect that. On top of that you have screwed 3 teams out of their chance at the titles. So at Wrestlemania it will be The New Day vs Enzo/Big Cass vs Sheamus/Cesaro vs Anderson/Gallows in a 4-way Elimination Match for the RAW Tag Team Titles.
The Aftermath:

So the reason why this is booked like this is currently there are two major problems with the RAW tag division;

1. It is way too shallow. Currently there are 5 teams.

2. Out of 5 teams 2 are heels and one of those is Shinning Stars.

With booking it this way you are giving the New Day a stronger heel run than their original one. You also have a huge feud in the making with New Day and Enzo/Big Cass. That’s why it’d be best to have Enzo/Cass go over and give them a strong Wrestlemania moment.

You’re also creating tension between two other teams (Sheamus/Cesaro and Anderson/Gallows) that has the fans attention and it doesn’t need the titles to further it. Without the titles driving the feud you can build these teams stronger based on character development. And it opens that door for them to work other programs after.
